Title: What Happens If....? Estate Planning for Women Business Owners

What happens if you’re suddenly unable to run your business? What happens if a key decision needs to be made and you’re unreachable? What happens if the people you trust most aren’t legally empowered to act on your behalf - personally or professionally?

In a world full of unknowns, your succession plan and legacy don’t have to be among them. Still, estate planning often feels intimidating, easy to postpone, or like something you’ll “get to later”—especially when you’re juggling the demands of running a business. Many women entrepreneurs either don’t have a plan at all, have documents that no longer reflect the realities of their life and growing business, or simply aren’t sure where to begin.

In this session, we’ll focus on why planning matters and what’s at stake. We’ll explore the questions every business owner should be asking—about decision makers, how tools like wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives actually function, how family and team dynamics affect your plan, and what it means to protect both your business and personal assets. There is no one size fits all plan; every person and every business is unique, and your estate planning should reflect that.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your risks, the gaps you may not have noticed, and how the right support can help you build and execute a plan that protects your business and your personal legacy with confidence.

*This presentation is for general educational purposes only and is not legal advice. Participating in this session does not create an attorney client relationship, and you should consult with a qualified attorney about your specific situation.

    About Our Presenter:

Attorney Tricia O’Konek focuses her estate planning practice on helping individuals, families, and business owners create plans that reflect their values and provide practical protection. She is committed to making the planning process approachable and empowering, especially for clients who want to reduce strain on their loved ones and ensure their wishes are honored. Tricia works with clients throughout Washington State on a range of estate planning needs.

After years in personal injury and civil litigation, Tricia saw how often people were left making high stakes decisions in the middle of a crisis. She founded Tourmaline Law to shift the focus from reacting to emergencies to planning ahead and helping clients feel confident in their planning.

Tricia is committed to providing legal services in a space that is welcoming, inclusive, and affirming for all individuals and families. She serves clients of every background, identity, and family structure, and centers dignity, respect, and cultural humility in every part of her work. Tourmaline Law was built on the belief that proactive planning should be accessible, judgment free, and tailored to the lived experiences of the people it’s meant to protect.

Presenter: Danielle StovallFounder, Take Your Wings & RISE, LLC

Title: The Business of Balance: Sustainable Power in Leadership

The Business of Balance challenges hustle-based leadership and demonstrates how emotional intelligence, intentional self-care, and presence lead to stronger, more sustainable results.

Balance is often treated as a personal preference, when in reality it is a critical factor in sustainable leadership and long-term business performance. The Business of Balance reframes self-care and emotional intelligence as essential operational tools that support clarity, resilience, and effective decision-making.

This session examines how constant overextension, reactive leadership, and burnout undermine impact, creativity, and organizational health. Rather than promoting hustle or recovery cycles, the conversation focuses on building internal routines and leadership practices that allow individuals to remain present, grounded, and strategic — even in high-demand environments.

Participants will explore how purpose, presence, and peace function as stabilizing forces in leadership, enabling stronger boundaries, clearer communication, and more intentional use of energy. The emphasis is on sustainability: creating systems that support consistent performance without sacrificing well-being.

This talk offers a practical, business-oriented approach to redefining power — not through force or overwork, but through alignment, regulation, and clarity that support both professional success and long-term capacity.

    About Our Presenter:

Danielle Stovall is the founder of Take Your Wings & RISE, LLC, a healing-centered coaching and advocacy practice supporting individuals and communities in growth, resilience, and empowerment. She is the organizer of the inaugural RISE UP AGAINST Domestic Violence March in Seattle and a leader within the RISE UP Cultural Movement, advocating for survivor-centered healing, youth protection, and systemic change. Danielle is also a co-founder of For The Girls, a Seattle-based entertainment collective creating protective, resource-rich spaces for creatives. Her work bridges healing, leadership, and community impact—inviting people to rise with purpose, integrity, and love.

    Speaker: Gazala Uradnik, GFS Events

Topic: Why Doing Good Is Good for (Your) Business

Why do people give? What motivates generosity, loyalty and long-term commitment — and how can small business owners apply those same principles to their companies?

This session explores the psychology behind giving and why humans are wired to support causes that align with their values. We will connect those insights to why businesses give; how strategic generosity builds trust and credibility and why having a thoughtful giving strategy is no longer optional for small businesses that want to stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Attendees will learn how purposeful giving can strengthen brand loyalty, deepen community relationships and create a meaningful competitive advantage. This session will also offer practical guidance on how to develop a giving strategy that feels authentic, aligns with business values and supports both impact and growth.

    About Our Speaker:

Gazala Uradnik is the Founder and Principal of GFS Events, a strategic event planning firm that partners with nonprofits to elevate their fundraising outcomes. With a Master’s in Healthcare Management from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, Gazala brings over two decades of experience in strategic planning, business development, and mission-focused execution.

In 2012, Gazala founded GFS Events after recognizing a critical gap in support for nonprofit organizations striving to raise more through events. GFS Events partners with clients to create mission-driven fundraising experiences—galas, walks, auctions and more—that are not only well-executed but deeply aligned with each organization’s purpose. GFS Events’ work goes beyond logistics, to helping nonprofits articulate their stories, connect with donors on an emotional level, and raise significantly more money—often doubling or tripling what they’ve raised in previous years. For the past 13 years, Gazala and her team have produced over 400 nonprofit events across the Pacific Northwest and beyond and raised over $100 million through expertly planned and executed events. GFS Events has received multiple accolades, including Best Nonprofit Event and Best Public Event from the International Live Events Association.

An active community leader, Gazala has served on several nonprofit boards including Women Business Owners, MPI Washington and ILEA Seattle.
