Women Business Owners (WBO), a non-profit organization, is dedicated to helping women-owned businesses succeed. WBO’s activities are guided by its commitment to educating women in business development, to building a welcoming, supportive community among its members, and to providing information, resources, and referrals through its network of members, guests, and speakers. WBO’s strength lies in its business referral network, which is supported by personal interaction at monthly meetings and events as well as by enhanced Web site capabilities.

Membership Applications
WBO collects contact and business information from individuals who wish to become WBO members. WBO may contact members about WBO and other events and opportunities that are considered to be of interest to women business owners. Authorized WBO personnel may review individual payment information submitted by applicants for membership management purposes. WBO will not share this payment information with other parties except for purposes of fund collection and WBO operations. To protect your data, payment information submitted on the Web site is transmitted using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and other encryption technologies.
Online Membership Directory
WBO Membership Listings are published on the WBO Web site, updated monthly, and open to visitors for viewing. The purpose of the Online Membership Listings is to facilitate networking and business promotional opportunities for participating WBO members. Members submit contact information and business descriptions to WBO and may authorize WBO to publish them on the Web site. Members may elect not to publish their contact and business information in the Online Membership Listings. Members may also elect to remove their contact and business information from the Online Membership Listings by contacting the WBO office; their opt-out requests will be implemented in the next scheduled update. Members may contact the WBO office to update their information contained in the Online Membership Listings; their requests will be implemented in the next scheduled update.
Event Registration
Members and visitors may register for WBO events on the WBO Web site. WBO will collect their information for the purposes of event planning and organization, may use their information for the purposes of future event planning and membership development, and may add their contact information to the WBO email list. Authorized WBO personnel may review individual payment information submitted by attendees for event management and WBO operations purposes. WBO will not share this payment information with other parties except for purposes of fund collection and event management. To protect your data, payment information submitted on the Web site is transmitted using industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and other encryption technologies. WBO event registration fees and WBO membership dues are non-refundable.
We use Google services to generate maps and provide autocompletion when searching for events by location, which may collect data via your browser in accordance to Google’s privacy policy.
We collect and store information you submit to us when making a booking, for the purpose of reserving your requested spaces at our event and maintaining a record of attendance.
We collect and store information you submit to us about events (and corresponding locations) you would like to publish on our site.
We may use cookies to temporarily store information about a booking in progress as well as any error/confirmation messages whilst submitting or managing your events and locations.
Visitor Information
Visitors may contact WBO by phone, by e-mail, or by filling in an online form. Their information may be used by WBO to respond to the inquiries, and their contact information may be added to the WBO mailing list used to promote WBO and other events and opportunities of interest to women business owners. Visitors may contact the WBO office to opt-out of receiving notices sent to the mailing list.
Web Site Visitor Statistical Information
The WBO Web server may automatically collect certain statistical information about visitors to the WBO Web site. This information is used for statistical aggregation only, and does not personally identify you. Examples of statistics WBO may monitor are which pages people visit, how many people visit our site, when people visit, the domains and/or IP addresses used to visit, and the software (e.g., browsers) people use to visit.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact Forms
Each contact form on the website requires consent to complete the submission process. You are consenting to the collection and storage of the information provided in the form. We also collect the IP address associated with the submission. The IP addresses associated with submissions are only used in scenarios involving website security - ie. to help identify spammers or malicious users.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
